Our approaches

We don’t just confront environmental problems, we partner with the communities most affected to build the solutions that create a healthier, more equitable future. Our work is grounded in justice, collaboration and the belief that lasting change begins at the local level and extends outward.

Pacific Environment supports frontline leaders, challenges powerful polluters and bridges grassroots organizing with global policy advocacy. From the Arctic to Southeast Asia, we help communities defend their environments and lead in designing the future they want to see.

What drives our work

We take a people-powered approach to environmental progress. That means engaging first with the leadership of Indigenous and often overlooked communities, creating equitable strategies and supporting sustainable systems that reflect local knowledge and priorities.

Scaling community-powered environmental solutions

Our model is intentionally designed to scale. We help frontline efforts gain traction, resources and influence — connecting local victories to regional frameworks and international decision-making. We don’t operate from the top down. We listen first, build long-term relationships and support efforts that grow community power.

Our approaches allow us to:

  • Build alliances that strengthen environmental protections
  • Influence global policy through local success stories
  • Develop replicable solutions tailored to unique ecosystems
  • Support movements that address root causes, not symptoms
